Paul Gascoigne frequently staged elaborate pranks and once borrowed an ostrich from a zoo to release onto the Tottenham Hotspur training pitch. Teammates had claimed he was not funny, so he hatched the idea overnight and obtained the bird from a willing zookeeper. He released the ostrich during warm-ups, found the stunt hilarious, and then spent about three hours trying to recapture it after training ended at 12:30pm.
