Arteta: Arsenal injury crisis is 'really dangerous circle'
"But obviously when you are missing players, you are loading other players and there is a consequence to that, and it's a really dangerous circle. You have to separate the kind of injuries. Some of them have been long-term, and some have been acute injuries. It's something that we are constantly looking at. We have played a lot of games with a lot of players missing and that puts a lot of stress, and then you get more injuries."
"No, because we don't have time to train. Today we've done 20 minutes, so surely it's not because we over-trained the players."
Arsenal's injury crisis has intensified with 15-year-old Max Dowman ruled out for weeks after suffering an ankle injury in a behind-closed-doors friendly. Dowman has been removed from the Champions League squad and cannot play in the competition until the knockout stages. Leandro Trossard missed the trip to Club Brugge after picking up an injury against Aston Villa, and Declan Rice is out with illness. William Saliba, Gabriel, Cristhian Mosquera and Kai Havertz remain sidelined. Arsenal have recorded 95 injuries since last season and 28 so far this term. Mikel Arteta denied overtraining, noting limited training time and warning that missing players loads others, increasing injury risk.
