Rodrigo Mendoza joined Elche's youth structures in 2019 after playing for EF Altorreal, EF San Miguel and Ranero CF. He made his first-team debut in November 2022 in a Copa del Rey win over CD L'Alcora. Mendoza established himself across two Segunda División seasons, making 44 league appearances and scoring two goals while operating as an attacking midfielder or in a deeper central role. Elche earned promotion as 2024-25 runners-up, and Mendoza has received consistent game time early in the 2025-26 LaLiga campaign. He was an unused substitute against Real Madrid on Nov. 23. Mendoza has represented Spain from U17 to U21 and played every minute at this year's FIFA U20 World Cup.
