Arsenal goalkeeper Zinsberger suffers ACL injury
"will undergo surgery in due course and is expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the 2025-26 season"
"Manuela is being closely supported by our medical team at Sobha Realty Training Centre, and everyone at Arsenal looks forward to seeing her return to action as soon as possible,"
"I'm incredibly sorry for Manuela. With her absence, we're not only losing a top performer, but also a role model for many,"
Manuela Zinsberger suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament during a training session before Arsenal's 2-0 Women's Champions League win over Benfica and will undergo surgery, expected to rule her out for the remainder of the 2025–26 season. The 29-year-old joined Arsenal from Bayern Munich in 2019 but has not played this season, with Daphne van Domselaar established as the number one. Zinsberger made eight appearances in last season's Champions League campaign. Arsenal's medical team at the Sobha Realty Training Centre is supporting her recovery. Zinsberger has 110 international caps and had been called up for Austria's Nations League play-offs. Austria coach Alexander Schriebl expressed support, and Austria have recently lost two other players to ACL injuries.
