"We're going to be really aware of the situation and the timescale of certain players,"
"We have to be actively looking, and then can we do it or not?"
"That's a different story, but our job is to be always very prepared because something can happen."
Arsenal spent about £250m in the summer and signed eight players to boost squad quality for a congested fixture list and multiple competitions. Last season injuries severely disrupted the campaign, including the absence of Gabriel Magalhaes and using Mikel Merino as an emergency striker, with a second-place Premier League finish and a Champions League semi-final exit. This season has again seen key players miss time, with Kai Havertz injured on the opening day and captain Martin Ødegaard, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Noni Madueke and Max Dowman all sidelined at points. Defensive availability has worsened recently, forcing Declan Rice to fill in at right-back after Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori suffered issues, while return dates for Cristhian Mosquera, Timber and Calafiori remain uncertain. The club intends to monitor situations closely and look for reinforcements in January, though any transfers are not guaranteed.
