Arbeloa asks Madrid fans for backing; Mbappe fit vs. Levante
"I respect the opinion of the Bernabéu a lot,"
"I understand Madrid fans are hurt and upset with us. But I ask for their support for the players ... I ask the fans that despite the disappointment they feel, they're on our side."
"He's better, and he'll be in the squad,"
"If someone wants to take my words as criticism for Xabi and his staff, they won't find that here, they're mistaken,"
Álvaro Arbeloa took charge of Real Madrid midweek, replacing Xabi Alonso, and faced immediate pressure following a Copa del Rey defeat by second-tier Albacete. Arbeloa appealed to Bernabéu supporters for backing despite fan frustration and asked them to stand with the players ahead of the LaLiga match against Levante. Kylian Mbappé, limited by a left-knee sprain and absent for the Albacete loss, is recovering and will be included in the squad. Madrid remain four points behind Barcelona in LaLiga despite earlier struggles. Arbeloa rejected interpretations that his comments were a criticism of his predecessor.
