Xabi Alonso says Kylian Mbappé is not anxious about not yet winning the Champions League and describes Madrid's pursuit of the trophy as an early-stage project. Mbappé moved to Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain last summer; PSG won the Champions League the following season. Real Madrid exited in the quarterfinals to Arsenal despite Mbappé scoring 44 goals across 2024-25. Madrid have won all four LaLiga games under Alonso so far, with Mbappé scoring four league goals. Mbappé missed part of the Club World Cup through gastroenteritis and is considered a leader whose experience and influence strengthen the collective.
