Ange replacement made official with pointed message against Aussie's key flaw
"Nottingham Forest have appointed Sean Dyche as their new head coach, just days after Ange Postecoglou's sacking. The ex-Burnley and Everton manager has signed a contract until 2027, and becomes Forest's third boss of the season following on from Nuno Espirito Santo and Postecoglou. After Nuno was given his marching orders in September, successor Posetcoglou lasted just 39 days in the job."
"The former Tottenham Hotspur boss was dismissed immediately after Forest's 3-0 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday, having failed to win any of his eight games in charge. And owner Evangelos Marinakis has moved quickly to find a replacement, turning to an experienced figure in Dyche. Having first held talks with the 54-year-old during this month's international break, negotiations ramped up after Postecoglou was sacked on Saturday, and they have now secured their man."
"He will be joined by former Forest pair Steve Stone and Ian Woan in the dugout, after they were announced as assistants. In their statement Forest delivered a pointed message about Postecoglou's deficiencies. "Dyche has built teams defined by defensive organisation, resilience, and strength from set pieces - qualities that align closely with the current squad's attributes and the Club's footballing identity," they said."
Sean Dyche has been appointed Nottingham Forest head coach on a contract running until summer 2027. He becomes the club's third permanent manager this season after Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou. Postecoglou lasted 39 days and was dismissed immediately after Forest's 3-0 defeat to Chelsea, having failed to win any of his eight games in charge. Owner Evangelos Marinakis moved quickly to recruit Dyche after holding initial talks during the international break. Dyche will take charge for the Europa League home clash with Porto and will be joined by assistants Steve Stone and Ian Woan. The club highlighted Dyche's defensive organisation, resilience and set-piece strength as matching the squad's attributes.
