Alonso 'optimistic' on Bellingham October return
""I want to be a bit optimistic, and hope that [Bellingham] can be back before October," Alonso told a news conference on Friday ahead of Madrid's game at Real Sociedad."
""He's started to do some things with the group, without contact because we still have to protect the shoulder. But Jude has made a great effort in his recovery.""
""He feels very good. Not for [the game] tomorrow, but let's see if next week he can take steps forward, he can train more normally like any other player. When we feel good, him above all, we're waiting for him.""
Jude Bellingham underwent shoulder surgery in July after a persistent dislocation and faced an initial 10–12 week recovery timetable. The midfielder resumed limited, non-contact group training at Valdebebas earlier than expected while the shoulder remains protected. A return to match action before October is possible, though he is not expected to be available for the immediate upcoming game. Further progress next week will determine whether he can train more normally. Real Madrid have a series of fixtures including a Champions League match against Marseille and LaLiga games culminating in a derby at Atlético Madrid on Sept. 27.
