"When Veliz joined Spurs for 13 million in August 2023, he was hailed as one of South America's most dynamite young talents. Standing at 6'2 and possessing a physical, aerial presence, he was expected to provide a different dimension to the Tottenham attack. However, his time in England was marred by a lack of opportunities and unfortunate timing. He made just eight substitute appearances for the senior team, with his sole goal coming in a 4-2 defeat to Brighton. Loan spells at Sevilla and Espanyol also failed to ignite his European career, as he struggled for consistent minutes in La Liga. He is currently back in Argentina, playing for Rosari"
Bahia have reached a verbal agreement to sign Tottenham striker Alejo Veliz on a permanent deal for 9 million plus performance-related add-ons, with the medical and formal signing scheduled for June 2026. The agreement was finalised with Bahia director Cadu Santoro. Veliz is currently on loan at Rosario Central and expressed a desire to complete that loan before joining Bahia. Veliz joined Tottenham for 13 million in August 2023 but made only eight substitute appearances and scored once, in a 4-2 defeat to Brighton. Loan spells at Sevilla and Espanyol provided limited minutes and failed to revive his European career.
