Bayern Munich defeated FC Augsburg 3-2 at the WWK Arena. FC Augsburg played with high energy and relentlessness under new coach Sandro Wagner, showing sharpness and aggression from the outset. Vincent Kompany has settled into a favored starting XI for Bayern while injured returnees will alter selection. Luis Díaz missed an early open-goal chance and finishing looked worrying. FC Augsburg goalkeeper Finn Dahmen appeared shaky early. Bayern looked weary after heavy recent use of core players. A 28th-minute sequence saw Upamecano find Laimer and Kane, whose cross produced a Serge Gnabry header for 1-0.
