After a Super Bowl sex trafficking crackdown, NorCal authorities gear up for the World Cup
""The Super Bowl provided opportunities for increased awareness partnerships with analysts from various law enforcement agencies including prosecutors and community-based organizations,""
""We are already working with other local, state, and federal analysts to prepare for the upcoming World Cup.""
Santa Clara County law enforcement is preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup at Levi's Stadium after a post–Super Bowl operation arrested 29 sex trafficking suspects and recovered 73 victims across 11 Bay Area counties. Ten of the recovered victims were minors, including a 12-year-old in Oakland. The World Cup will host six matches at Levi's and eight at SoFi Stadium between June 13 and July 1, with games across Canada, Mexico and the U.S. The task force says major events create conditions traffickers exploit and is coordinating analysts across local, state and federal levels.
