"Of course 800 would be another landmark but 700 EFL games is another milestone. I just have to keep on going and I must be doing something right."
"It's nice for this 700 to fall on my birthday as well. It is another landmark and hopefully I can rack up more appearances as well in the EFL."
"Promotion would be amazing and I am not shy to say that is the target. After the disappointment of last year we are trying to do better so hopefully that would be the ultimate promotion whether that's automatic or whatever. That is the goal now."
Albert Adomah reached his 700th EFL appearance as a second-half substitute for Walsall during a 1-1 draw with Shrewsbury on his 38th birthday. He scored his 100th career goal in September and now eyes 800 total appearances before the end of his playing career. Walsall led League Two for much of 2024-25, slipped into the play-offs and lost the final at Wembley, and currently sit top of League Two again under Mat Sadler. Promotion to League One is the stated target and would be the preferred way to cap his career. His 700 EFL appearances exclude Premier League outings and play-off matches; Peter Shilton and Tony Ford hold the overall appearance records.
