"Dresser, WI - On January, 9th, 2026 skiers and snowboarders up in Wisconsin set out on a unique challenge when they looped the legendary rope tow at Trollhaugen Ski Resort from 10:00am to 2:30am in what they have deemed the "Longest Lap" contest. 28 participants began the challenge but only 15 spent the full 16.5 hours riding the Valhalla rope tow."
"After full day of skiing that went well into the night, skier Nick Drye came out on top with an incredible 218.79 miles skied. While this achievement in endurance skiing and snowboarding was not officially recognized by Guinness World Records but the resort plans on getting an official adjudicator to witness the feat the next time they hold the event."

Participants rode Trollhaugen Ski Resort's Valhalla rope tow from 10:00am to 2:30am on January 9, 2026, in a 16.5-hour endurance challenge called the "Longest Lap." Twenty-eight people started the looped tow contest and fifteen finished. Skier Nick Drye led overall with 218.79 miles. Snowboarder Jayva Jordan recorded 217.71 miles and 777 laps. Top men's snowboarder Kyle Kennedy logged 214.41 miles, and top women's skier Dorothy Grundin logged 174.48 miles. The group accumulated 3,336.33 miles and 11,740 laps. The achievement was not yet Guinness-certified; the resort plans to secure an official adjudicator for future attempts.
