The avalanche carried the younger skier while his brother remained uninjured and began hand-digging immediately. Rescue teams arrived quickly, including Alpine Rescue Service personnel, a helicopter, and search dogs. Rescuers found the skier unconscious in cardiac arrest and performed resuscitation before airlifting him to Santa Chiara Hospital in Trento.
