"The mountain wore the murky morning fog like a scarf it hung around her tight neck still and thick; she wagged it back and forth luring us to join her in the dance of clouds that were wrapped around Snowbird like a python on prey. We took the ride. Up Gadzoom; an iron ship with a course set to the mountain's mid-line, knifing through the fog full-steam ahead."
"When we got to the top of the lift, the sky raised its roof. The skiing on Gadzoom was totally clear and now mist-free; the snow-suave. Slushy but not sticky. It was warm like spring in December but with winter light. The tram opened around noon and we instinctually oriented our skis that way We found the fog again. We played hide and seek on Regulator Johnson."
Snowbird began the day wrapped in dense, murky fog that alternately concealed and enticed skiers. The Gadzoom lift pierced the fog, delivering clear, mist-free skiing with slushy but non-sticky snow that felt like spring in December under winter light. The tram opening created additional terrain and repeated runs led back into pockets of fog on Regulator Johnson, producing playful hide-and-seek moments. Ski Patrol opened a run off Gad 2 that provided a soft, goopy left-gateway skiing experience. By afternoon the fog faded while ominous clouds lingered on high peaks, leaving steady, calm skiing on a familiar mountain.
