Alterra Mountain Company announced a leadership transition with CEO Jared Smith departing at the end of the current winter season. Smith expressed pride in the company's expansion and the capabilities added during his tenure. The board will conduct a comprehensive search for a new chief executive while an interim leadership structure manages operations through season's end. An Executive Committee of the Board, including representatives from KSL Capital Partners, Henry Crown & Company, and former CEO Rusty Gregory, will function as an Office of the CEO during the transition. Smith will remain available for one year to support the transition. Board chairman Eric Resnick praised Smith's leadership during the company's rapid growth period.
