Sipapu Ski & Summer Resort, NM, Opens Lift 3 This Saturday - SnowBrains
""I'm very proud of our team," John Paul Bradley, General Manager of Sipapu, said. "This project has taken a ton of grit from our team. I'm grateful to everyone who worked on this project, from the engineers to the Sipapu staff.""
""Lift 3 opens up some of our favorite beginner-friendly trails higher up the mountain," Bradley said. "Before, that area was served by a surface lift that could be tricky for newer skiers to navigate. Now families and beginners can easily access these beautiful upper mountain runs and really explore more of what Sipapu has to offer.""
Sipapu Ski & Summer Resort completed construction of Lift 3, a two-person chairlift replacing a 47-year-old surface lift, and will hold a ribbon-cutting on January 24. Construction began in June and the new lift provides easier access to popular beginner terrain higher on the mountain, including a terrain park and runs such as Brandy and Candy. The lift is the resort's second new lift in less than a decade and the fifth since 2001 under Mountain Capital Partners. The project was completed in collaboration with the U.S. Forest Service and follows the resort's Master Development Plan. Planned follow-up work includes a new skier services deck with expanded patio dining, additional restrooms, and enhanced snowmaking for the Lift 3 area to enable earlier seasonal openings.
