Redemption Podium for Julia Scheib and Sara Hector at Mont-Tremblant's, QC, Giant Slalom World Cup, as Alice Robinson Claims 3rd - SnowBrains
"After yesterday's wild weather, today's condition were much more favorable for the tech women, blessing the World Cup skiers with a bluebird day. Sunday, December 7, saw the second of two Giant Slalom races at Mont-Tremblant, Quebec. Sunday's podium was a redemption podium with Austria's Julia Scheib and Sweden's Sara Hector-who had both recorded a DNF yesterday-claiming first and second place, respectively."
"First skier Thea Louise Stjernesund had a score to settle after ending yesterday's race with a DNF, after placing fourth after run 1. Her first run today seemed more measured and cautious after yesterday's mistake, and she set the pace with 1:08.80. Team USA's Paula skied in 0.25 seconds behind her, so the time appeared competitive, but then came yesterday's winner, Alice Robinson, who stormed into the lead 1.36 seconds ahead of Stjernesund and 1.61 seconds ahead of Moltzan, shaking up the status quo."
Favorable bluebird conditions returned for the World Cup Giant Slalom at Mont-Tremblant on Sunday, December 7. Austria's Julia Scheib won, Sweden's Sara Hector placed second, and Alice Robinson finished third after a mistake on run 2 that cost her the lead. Thea Louise Stjernesund set the early pace in run 1 with 1:08.80, and Team USA's Paula trailed by 0.25 seconds before Alice Robinson surged into the lead by 1.36 seconds over Stjernesund and 1.61 seconds over Moltzan.
