Oak Mountain, NY, Opens on December 13 With Great Improvements & Updates - SnowBrains
"Oak Mountain is working with Snowcloud for its ticketing and reservations to improve guests' experience. The ski hill has used tickets and wickets in past years, and the new system will work like any other RFID card direct-to-lift system. This should make it more convenient for guests and for the mountain to track its skier visits more efficiently. The mountain has also replaced the handle tow on the tubing hill with a carpet lift, which will make its tubing experience better."
"More seating has been added for its guests in the main lodge, where guests will have the opportunity to taste new menu items for the 2025-26 season at the Acorn Pub & Eatery. Oak Mountain is on the Triple Play Pass, which gives skiers and snowboarders three visits that can be used at any of its 16 participating ski areas. The ski hill continues to improve and upgrade every season, and last year, Oak Mountain purchased cabins to provide housing for its employees."
Oak Mountain started snowmaking last week and is projected to open on Saturday, December 13. The mountain sits in the Southern Adirondacks and serves as a three-season destination near Albany, Utica, and Lake George. Upgrades for the 2025-26 season include a new Snowcloud RFID ticketing and reservation system, replacement of the tubing hill’s handle tow with a carpet lift, and new lights on Oak Mountain Run for night skiing. The main lodge gained more seating and will feature new menu items at the Acorn Pub & Eatery. Oak Mountain joined the Triple Play Pass and purchased employee cabins to improve recruitment and retention.
