"Industry NewsNZSki, which operates The Remarkables, Coronet Peak and Mt. Hutt in New Zealand, has signed a strategic partnership with China's Sunac-BonSki, marking one of the most significant international agreements in New Zealand's ski industry. Sunac-BonSki runs 11 large-scale indoor snow resorts across major Chinese cities, including Shenzhen BonSki/Huafa Snow, reportedly the largest indoor ski resort in the world. In addition to Huafa, Sunac-BonSki operates Guangzhou Sunac Snow Park, Wuxi BonSki, and Chongqing BonSki, previously named "Snow World.""
"The deal opens direct access to China's rapidly expanding snow sports market and strengthens NZSki's position as a global leader in alpine experiences. China is now one of the fastest-growing ski markets globally. During the 2024-25 season, the country recorded 26.1 million skier visits, up 12.9% year-on-year. Indoor skiing is driving a lot of this growth, with 66 indoor resorts generating 5.6 million skier visits last season. China is also home to the five largest indoor snow areas in the world, however."
