New York: Whiteface, Gore and Mt Van Hoevenberg Open to Season Pass Holders, Belleayre Opens This Weekend - SnowBrains
"New York boasts more ski areas (50) than any other state in the country, and the Olympic Authority's flagship mountains, Whiteface, Gore, and Belleayre, play a central role in the state's publicly supported outdoor recreation network. Whiteface Mountain opened on November 15, along with Mt. Van Hoevenberg's first groomed Nordic terrain, becoming the first ski areas in New York to open for the season. Mt. Van Hoevenberg is now open daily for season passholders, with an anticipated public opening on November 28."
"Whiteface reopens and Gore and Belleayre open to season passholders on Friday, November 21, and to the public on Saturday, November 22, with terrain expanding as conditions allow. "New York is home to some of the best skiing and winter recreation in the country," Governor Hochul said in a press release. "We are proud to kick off another season with new multi-resort passes that make it easier for New Yorkers to explore everything our regions have to offer."
The Olympic Regional Development Authority ski areas begin operations for the 2025–26 winter season with Whiteface Mountain opening November 15 and Mt. Van Hoevenberg offering groomed Nordic terrain and passholder access ahead of a November 28 public opening. Whiteface, Gore, and Belleayre will open to season passholders November 21 and to the public November 22, with terrain expanding as conditions allow. Extensive upgrades across New York ski areas include enhanced snowmaking, energy-efficient infrastructure, new learning zones, expanded terrain parks, and improved guest amenities, with Belleayre receiving a large Discovery Lodge, rental and tuning facilities, and EV charging.
