"Monarch Mountain announced in a social media post that Telluride employees and their dependents are eligible for up to three complimentary lift tickets. In addition, guests with a valid Telluride season pass or proof of a Telluride day ticket purchased between December 29 and January 8 can receive free skiing at Monarch as well. According to the ski area, impacted guests may receive up to one complimentary ticket per day, for a maximum of three days, through January 8, 2026."
Telluride Ski Resort has been closed since December 27 due to a ski patrol strike and stalled contract negotiations, disrupting local workers and visiting skiers during a busy season. Monarch Mountain is offering up to three complimentary lift tickets to Telluride employees and their dependents, and to guests with valid Telluride passes or day tickets purchased between December 29 and January 8, with a limit of one complimentary ticket per day through January 8, 2026. Monarch is located near Salida with nine lifts and 1,146 acres, relies on natural snowfall, has more than half its trails open, and may open its No Name Basin pending snowfall. Monarch also promotes a $69 Migration Ticket for passholders from other resorts.
