Mid-June Skiing in the Twin Cities: Hyland Hills, MN, Preserves Winter Snow for 1-Day Backyard Rail Jam
Hyland Hills Ski Area will hold its summer event “June Jam” on June 10, 2026 in the Hyland Lake Park Reserve in Bloomington. The event uses a large stockpile of winter snow to create a backyard jam-style setup for skiing, snowboarding, and tubing. The ski and snowboard portion is moved to the rope tow side of the bunny hill and focuses on beginner to intermediate park riders. Two three-hour sessions run from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with 125 riders capped per session and $20 rail jam tickets. A dedicated tubing hill will run in five one-hour blocks from 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., charging $5 per person with 40 participants per hour. Registration opened May 26 at 8 a.m., and spectators are encouraged to attend for free, with a patio happy hour, live music, and food and drinks for purchase.
"In a new twist for the 2026 edition, the resort is utilizing its stowed-away snow to construct a small, dedicated tubing hill. The tubing area will operate across five distinct one-hour blocks between 3:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Entry for tubing is set at $5 per person, with a limit of 40 participants per hour-long slot."
