"Switzerland's Marco Odermatt showed on Thursday, December 4, that he continues to be the most dominant male skier on the World Cup circuit. Odermatt snatched the victory at the men's Downhill in Beaver Creek, Colorado, after delivering a strong run that pushed Team USA's Ryan Cochran-Siegle into second place. Norway's Adrian Smiseth Sejersted finished third, marking his first career Downhill podium."
"Opening the men's speed races for the 2025-26 season was Switzerland's Niels Hintermann who completed his first race since being treated for lymph node cancer last year. Hintermann set the pace at 1:31.63 minutes, which was an early indication how fast and well prepped the course was, after training run times had been several seconds behind that result. His lead was not long in the making, as Norway's Sejersted undercut the Swiss by more than a second-an impressive run by the 2025 Super-G Bronze medallist."
""It's funny," Cochran-Siegle admitted, "I feel like when you're trying less hard, it actually comes your way. I'm 33 years old and I'm still learning every day," he added."
Marco Odermatt won the men's Downhill at Beaver Creek, reinforcing his dominance on the World Cup circuit. Team USA's Ryan Cochran-Siegle finished second after an early fast run that briefly held the lead. Norway's Adrian Smiseth Sejersted took third, his first career Downhill podium. Race organizers moved the Downhill forward one day because of a deteriorating weather forecast, producing a bluebird day on the Birds of Prey course. Switzerland's Niels Hintermann returned from lymph node cancer treatment and set the early pace in 1:31.63. Aleksander Aamodt Kilde made his first Downhill start since a January 2024 crash and placed 11th.
