Jay Peak's, VT, Incredible Season Comes to an End This Weekend
"“Thank you for being the most die-hard fans anywhere in this business.” - Steve Wright, General Manager, Jay Peak Resort"
"The season started off great with Jay hitting 100 inches by Thanksgiving, and reaching 200 inches before Christmas, and surpassed that on January 26 with 300 inches - its fastest accumulation rate in at least 25 years. Jay officially crossed the 400-inch mark for the 2025-26 season the first week in April, making it one of the snowiest resorts in the United States. That number is impressive - but not entirely unexpected. Jay Peak's 10-year average sits at 372 inches, and the resort is known for continuing to rack up snowfall deep into April. Last season, Jay Peak finished with 475 inches of snowfall - the most in two decades."
"“When we started making snow back in late October and early November, mid-May felt more like a target than a reality-a dot on the calendar that was hard to fully believe in. And now here we are. Just us. And you. The Triple. The Jet. And as many turns as you can squeeze into Saturday and Sunday, May 16th and 17th-the final weekend of a record-snapping season here at Jay Peak.” - Steve Wright, General Manager, Jay Peak Resort"
"The forecast for this weekend has temperatures near the 60s with only a passing chance of a quick afternoon shower. The Jet Triple will spin from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. both days. Skiing and riding will be for advanced skiers and riders only, and, especially by Sunday, there will likely be so"
Jay Peak Resort’s 2025-26 season ends May 17 after running 170 days from November 29. The resort is among the few eastern ski areas still open, alongside Black Mountain in New Hampshire and Killington in Vermont. Snowfall milestones included 100 inches by Thanksgiving, 200 inches before Christmas, and 300 inches by January 26, the fastest accumulation rate in at least 25 years. The resort crossed 400 inches in early April and finished last season with 475 inches, the most in two decades. This weekend’s forecast calls for temperatures near the 60s with a small chance of a brief afternoon shower. The Jet and Triple operate 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. both days, with skiing and riding limited to advanced guests.
