Hunter Mountain, NY, Opened Saturday for the 2025-26 Ski Season with Top-To-Bottom Skiing - SnowBrains
"Hunter Mountain, New York, opened this past Saturday, with top-to-bottom skiing and riding on six of its trails. Hunter started making snow on November 7 to prepare for the 2025-26 ski season and had a base depth of 20 inches for opening day. The mountain's snowmaking team has been working around the clock to increase its base and open more terrain. "Thanks to the recent stretch of cold temps, we're open with great coverage and top-to-bottom terrain," Hunter's website said."
"The ski resort opened with 3 lifts operating: Broadway Express, Kattskill Flyer, and Hunter East Carpet. Those lifts serviced six trails: Hellgate, 7th Ave, Kennedy Drive, Fifth Avenue, Gramercy Park, and Park Avenue West. Hunter added over 170 new snowguns during the offseason, which will enable the resort to open faster with more snow coverage and terrain options. Hunter will continue to make snow every opportunity Mother Nature gives it to get the mountain fully open."
