"What makes the program notable is not just its ambition - many resorts have published net-zero pledges - but the specific, measurable, operational steps being taken to get there. At the heart of the award-winning effort is a new, comprehensive sustainability strategy focused on lift constructi"
The Summit at Snoqualmie, a five-mountain ski area east of Seattle in Washington’s Cascade Range, received the 2025 NSAA Golden Eagle Award for Overall Environmental Excellence. The award recognizes broad, holistic environmental performance across the resort’s entire operation. NSAA cited a comprehensive, systems-based approach to sustainable lift construction and deconstruction that advances ForeverProject 2030 goals. ForeverProject 2030, formalized in 2021 by parent company Boyne Resorts, targets net-zero operational emissions across all operations by 2030. The framework includes five interconnected goals: net-zero emissions via clean electricity and electrification, increased waste diversion through composting and recycling, ecosystem stewardship through wildlife habitat protection and water conservation, climate advocacy using the resort’s business voice, and investment in team and community wellbeing. The program emphasizes measurable operational steps toward targets.
