"As the countdown to the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics accelerates, the Olympic flame is burning a little brighter this winter in upstate New York. Lake Placid-one of the most storied Olympic towns in the world-is transforming February into a month-long celebration designed to bring the Olympic spirit off the screen and into real life for fans across the East Coast."
"Each night from February 5 through 22, the Olympic Center will light up in red, white, and blue, turning the heart of the village into a glowing tribute to Team USA. The nightly illumination sets the tone for a festival that blends nostalgia with hands-on experiences aimed at families, young athletes, and lifelong winter sports fans. One of the marquee moments arrives early in the month with the Empire State Winter Games, running February 5-8."
"New York's largest multi-sport winter competition will feature a Parade of Athletes, a ceremonial torch relay, an extreme skating show by the Turbo Twins, and public access to rarely seen Olympic artifacts-connecting grassroots competition with elite Olympic history. Visitors can also step into the Olympic experience in more personal ways. From February 1-29, fans can pose for photos inside a virtual Team USA hockey jersey through an interactive digital installation at the Olympic Center."
