"“Thank you for buying us one-piece snow suits, ski swap gear, and our lift tickets. And thank you for buying most of it again when we quickly outgrew, lost, or forgot the stuff you just bought us. Thank you for putting us in ski school, even though Dad said he could teach us for free. Thank you for picking us up early from ski school. The end-of-the-day laps with just us will always be the best runs of the day,” Erik Morgensen, President and General Manager of Black Mountain, wrote in a press release."
"“As a thank you, we will be offering free skiing to all moms this Mother's Day. Thanks for being here, and thank you, Mom, for putting us on skis,” Morgensen wrote in a press release."
"“Thank you for making sure we always had breakfast early enough to get a good parking spot. Thank you for reminding us to eat lunch. Thank you for always having snacks in your pocket so we could eat on the lift and keep charging. Thank you for teaching us to pizza when all we wanted were French fries. Thank you for telling us to turn. Thank you for picking us up when we did not turn. Thank you for making us ski tree runs so that we were forced to turn.”"
Black Mountain in New Hampshire is offering free skiing on Mother’s Day for every mom who wants to ski. The resort’s president and general manager sent a heartfelt message thanking mothers for the support they provide to their children. The message credits moms for buying ski gear, lift tickets, and ski school opportunities, as well as for helping with logistics like early breakfasts, lunch reminders, snacks on the lift, and timely pickups. It also thanks moms for teaching skiing basics such as turning and for encouraging challenging runs. The resort notes it is one of the last ski resorts still open in the East, alongside Killington and Jay Peak.
