La Fouly is a small alpine village in the Swiss canton of Walli/Valais, near the French and Italian borders. It sits at the eastern end of the Val Ferret, beneath the Mont Blanc massif."

The local cross-country ski track and snowshoe trail were closed. The order begins February 16 at 11 a.m. and runs until further notice, but no later than February 18 at 10 a.m. The region includes three Ski St. Bernard areas totaling 113 kilometers of runs, with steep avalanche-prone terrain and popular backcountry access. The western Alps experienced volatile snowpack after storms in January and February, producing unstable conditions and avalanche deaths above the 10-year average.
