Alpine Surf Sessions: The New Contest That Aims to Unite The U.S. Powsurf Community - SnowBrains
""This community doesn't really have an event like this in the States," Wesley told SnowBrains. "There are small gatherings here and there, but nothing you can count on happening every year. I want this to be something annual-something that brings people together.""
""I know so many people just from Instagram," he said. "I want to actually meet them, shake their hands, ride together.""
""absolutely perfect for showcasing powsurfing.""
Alpine Surf Sessions will debut February 2–4, 2026 at Alpine Lakes High Camp near Merritt, Washington, using two distinct slopes accessed via a fully rented cat-ski operation. The three-day gathering emphasizes rider-first values, prioritizing shared riding time, creative expression, and connection over podiums or prize money. The format was inspired by Gregg Todd’s memorial 'no-board' powsurf contests and aims to revive that spirit while keeping judged components secondary to community building. Day one centers on arrival, orientation, safety briefings, feature building, and a family-style lodge dinner. Day two will take place on Thompson Ridge, a natural amphitheater-style slope.
