Lindsey Vonn, 41, is recovering from a complex tibia fracture sustained during a downhill crash at the Milan Cortina Olympics on February 8. The crash occurred just 13 seconds into her run and resulted in compartment syndrome, nearly causing her to lose her left leg. An orthopedic surgeon performed a fasciotomy to save her leg. Vonn has not decided whether to return to racing and stated she will make her own decision about her future without external pressure. She made a successful comeback last season after nearly six years away, winning two downhill races and earning three podium finishes. Currently, she is progressing through rehabilitation, recently beginning stationary biking and weight training.
