The Stronach Group has agreed to sell Golden Gate Fields to a nonprofit for $175 million, with plans to convert the site into a park. The deal is expected to close early next year. The Trust for Public Land aims to enhance public access and recreation in the area. TSG will cover demolition costs for existing structures. While the state acquires valuable waterfront property, TSG will continue to benefit from simulcast revenue, which would have ceased if racing resumed in Northern California.
