Henley & Partners released its World Wealthiest Cities Report in collaboration with New World Wealth, identifying Shenzhen as the world's fastest-growing wealth hub. Shenzhen, with over 17 million residents and a large number of billionaires and millionaires, has gained prominence due to its position as a tech powerhouse housing major companies like Huawei and Tencent. Following Shenzhen, Scottsdale, Arizona, ranks second for millionaire growth, while Bengaluru, West Palm Beach, and Hangzhou complete the top five. Several U.S. cities, including Miami and Austin, also exhibit significant wealth emergence in recent years.
"Asia's top tech hub, Shenzhen, is the base city for global tech giants Huawei, Tencent, BYD, DJI, and ZTE and has experienced especially strong wealth growth over the past 20 years."
"It is now arguably the world's leading city in a number of key tech sub-sectors including computer hardware, electric vehicles, Wi-Fi dongles, mobile phones, flying drones, 5G, energy units, and electronics."
"Three other American cities - Miami, Washington D.C., and Austin, Texas - have also seen notably high growth between 2014 and 2024."
