You'll be able to see two more supermoons in London before the end of the year
"Supermoons are a sight to behold. Two to four times a year, when its at its fullest and reaches its closest point to our planet, the moon appears in our sky even more luminous and impressive than normal. In fact, it can appear up to 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than the average full moon. The first supermoon of 2025 rose above London's skyline earlier this month, but don't worry if you missed it - there are more on the way."
"Supermoon 2025 dates and times The first of the upcoming supermoons will be the Beaver Moon (named after the heightened activity of beavers at this time of year) on Wednesday, November 5. It'll rise at around 3.55pm but won't be at its most spectacular until after the sun has set and the sky is at its darkest. The next supermoon, known as the Cold Moon, will arrive a month later on Thursday, December 4,. That one will rise at 2.48pm but, once again, the best time to see it will be much later on when the sky is completely dark."
Supermoons occur two to four times a year when a full moon coincides with the moon's perigee, making the moon appear larger and brighter. A supermoon can look up to 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than an average full moon. The 2025 Beaver Moon peaks on Wednesday, November 5 with a rise around 3.55pm and is best seen after sunset. The Cold Moon peaks on Thursday, December 4 with a rise near 2.48pm and is best viewed when the sky is fully dark. High vantage points and parks with low light pollution offer ideal viewing locations.
