"Astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS) spend their days camping out in a noisy, cramped, and often smelly metal tube whizzing around the Earth. But as the ISS reaches the end of its life, one company plans on making space travel a lot more glamorous as early as next year. Haven-1, the world's first private space station, features queen-size beds, a state-of-the-art gym, and even maple wood interiors."
"Compared to the sprawling structure of the ISS, the Haven-1 space station will be relatively small. Haven-1 will have a diameter of 4.4 metres (14.7 feet) and a usable volume of 45 cubic metres (1,500 cubic feet). That is about the same volume as the inside of a single-deck bus and just an eighth as big as the 388 cubic metres (13,696 cubic feet) of volume on the ISS."
Haven-1 is a compact private space station designed by Vast to provide more comfortable, human-centric living and research space in low Earth orbit, with a projected launch by 2026. The station will include queen-size beds, a state-of-the-art gym, maple wood interiors, and soft padded interiors to improve crew comfort compared with the ISS. Haven-1 will support scientific research and microgravity manufacturing experiments. The station measures 4.4 metres in diameter with 45 cubic metres of usable volume, roughly the size of a single-deck bus and about one-eighth the volume of the ISS. IWC Schaffhausen serves as the official timekeeper.
