"If we are visited by a technological object like 3I/ATLAS - it could either visit us or release some mini-probes that arrive to Earth and appear as [unidentified aerial phenomena],"
"And we need to be aware of that possibility."
"This is an object, if that is the size of it, that is a million times more massive than the previous interstellar objects we've seen, and that's quite unlikely,"
"There is not enough material in interstellar space."
An interstellar object labeled 3I/ATLAS entered the solar system and is broadly identified as a comet. Observations from the Gemini South telescope show its tail lengthening as it releases more dust and gas while approaching the Sun. Avi Loeb has raised an alternative hypothesis that the object could be an extraterrestrial technological artifact and urged NASA to observe the object with the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter and Juno during its close solar pass. Loeb noted the object's unusually large estimated size—up to 28.5 miles—and an atypical trajectory near several planets.
