Postmortem of Scala 3.6.0
Briefly

On October 18, 2024, the Scala Core Team mistakenly published Scala 3.6.0 instead of Scala 3.6.0-RC1 during the release process. An internal investigation indicated that it was a technical error. In response, the team quickly started the Scala 3.6.1 release to mitigate the issue. Scala 3.6.0 is now abandoned and declared broken. Users are advised to use Scala 3.5.2 for stability or try 3.6.1 for testing purposes while awaiting the soon-to-be-released 3.6.2 stable version.
On October 18, 2024, a technical mistake led to the accidental release of Scala 3.6.0 instead of the intended 3.6.0-RC1. The Scala Core Team promptly launched Scala 3.6.1 as a workaround.
The broken Scala 3.6.0 should not be used by anyone; instead, users are advised to stick with version 3.5.2 or to test with the newer 3.6.1 until 3.6.2 is released.
