The San Jose Sharks have signed defenseman Shakir Mukhamadullin to a one-year, $1 million contract as part of their preparations for the upcoming draft and free agency. General Manager Mike Grier highlighted Mukhamadullin's experience and growth during his time with the team, despite suffering a shoulder injury last season. Meanwhile, the Sharks have parted ways with forward Andrew Poturalski, who expressed gratitude for his time with the organization before seeking opportunities abroad. Poturalski was a standout player in the AHL and is expected to pursue a more lucrative career in Europe or Russia.
Shakir earned the opportunity to be a part of the Sharks, and was able to get some valuable experience playing against quality opponents that helped aid his development.
I am grateful to the Sharks organization for allowing me to experience something different before the end of my career.
We thank Andrew for his contributions to the San Jose organization and wish him and his family all the best.
