There's been an increase in SF Giants legend Tim Lincecum sightings
""We were delighted to have Tim Lincecum dine last week in the Bar & Lounge at our Westlake location. He was kind, gracious, and down-to-earth and did pose for some pictures with our team and fellow fans," wrote Original Joe's in an email to SFGATE. "It's always special to have someone like Timmy dine with us. He's a true San Francisco legend, and we're honored to be a place he chooses to visit.""
"Lincecum won the Cy Young in his first two complete seasons - 2008 and 2009 - and was an integral part of the San Francisco Giants' first World Series-winning team in 2010. While his production slowed after that, Lincecum won two more titles with the Giants in 2012 and 2014. He finished his career with three championships, three strikeout titles, four All-Star nods and two no-hitters to his name."
"The former fan favorite had been extremely reclusive since his retirement. He has returned to Oracle Park just once, for Bruce Bochy's retirement ceremony in 2019, and has hardly been seen in San Francisco besides that. Two brushes with tragedy could be a reason for Lincecum's distance from the spotlight. His brother died in 2018 and his wife died in 2022."
Tim Lincecum has appeared in public increasingly often around the Bay Area, including dining at Original Joe's Westlake in Daly City and posing for photos with staff and fans. Original Joe's posted an Instagram photo captioned, "Always a good day when Timmy is in the house." Lincecum won back-to-back Cy Young Awards in 2008 and 2009 and helped the Giants win World Series titles in 2010, 2012 and 2014, finishing with three championships, three strikeout titles, four All-Star selections and two no-hitters. He remained largely reclusive after retiring, returning to Oracle Park only once in 2019 for Bruce Bochy's retirement ceremony. Two family tragedies—his brother's death in 2018 and his wife's death in 2022—have been noted as possible reasons for his privacy. Recent sightings include Noe Valley and Bay Area golf courses.
