"You'd think the San Francisco Giants' selling at the trade deadline would've led to another powerless Giants team fading into the offseason. But a funny thing has happened: The Giants have somehow become one of baseball's best bashing teams. The Giants slugged two more homers in Tuesday night's win over the Diamondbacks, giving the team seven homers in the past two games at Oracle Park and 58 homers since Aug. 1 (the first day after the trade deadline)."
"In the past 15 days, the Giants have completely pulled away from the rest of baseball with their power display. San Francisco's 29 homers in 15 days are best in the league, three better than the Yankees and seven more than the next-closest teams (the Mets and Mariners, each with 22). Their team slugging percentage of .553 is also 71 points higher than the second-place team (the Mets at .482)."
San Francisco transformed from a presumed sellers' team into a top power offense since Aug. 1, hitting 58 homers and tying for third-most in that span. The team has gone 13-3 in its past 16 games and recorded 29 homers over 15 days, the most in MLB, with a team slugging percentage of .553. Willy Adames and Rafael Devers have each hit 12 homers since Aug. 1; Adames has 28 on the season and could reach 30. The team has batted .315 in the past 15 days, lowered strikeouts to 87, and produced power both at Coors Field and at Oracle Park.
