Sharks acquire Alex Nedeljkovic in trade with Penguins
Briefly

The San Jose Sharks have struggled significantly over the past three seasons, winning only 61 games and finishing last in the NHL twice. As the team approaches a critical juncture in its rebuild, general manager Mike Grier made notable offseason moves, including acquiring goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic from the Penguins. With a focus on developing young talent, including Yaroslav Askarov and Macklin Celebrini, the Sharks seek to make meaningful progress next season and improve their roster to foster competitive play.
The San Jose Sharks have won just 61 games in the last three seasons combined and are coming off back-to-back years in which they finished dead last in the NHL.
Management is high on Yaroslav Askarov, whom the squad acquired in an August trade with the Nashville Predators, and just drafted Joshua Ravensbergen with the No. 30 overall pick in the NHL Draft.
Nedeljkovic is not going to ascend into the Vezina Trophy conversation or elevate San Jose to contender status, but he can possibly help this franchise accelerate its ongoing reconstruction project.
Grier is gradually assembling a more competent roster that will ideally be able to crawl out of the cellar.
