Roki Sasaki shares encouraging updates on recovery and mindset
Briefly

Roki Sasaki returned to media following a shoulder injury, stating he is currently pain-free and focused on refining his mechanics. He plans to engage in a simulated game after a bullpen session at Dodger Stadium. He acknowledged past concerns regarding pain and expressed a clearer understanding of his mechanics. Prior to his injury, Sasaki demonstrated potential with a 4.72 ERA in eight starts. He noted that regaining his fastball velocity hinges on health and improvements in mechanics acquired during his recovery period.
"I feel no pain," Sasaki said through interpreter Will Ireton. "Right now, I'm just working on the mechanical part of the game."
"I think I just had a better understanding the second time through on where the pain was coming from, and how to make sure the pain doesn't come back," he said.
"I feel better about being able to throw harder, especially because I'm completely pain-free," he said. "That being said, I do have to face live hitters and see how my mechanics hold and be able to do that consistently."
"The way it should move versus the way it was actually moving, was different."
