District, a popular San Francisco bar near Oracle Park, closed its doors on July 1 after 18 years of operation. It began its journey in 2007, opened by brothers Chris and Ryan Vance along with business partner Jon D'Angelica. Known for its extensive wine and whiskey selection, District became a neighborhood hub. Although the San Francisco location has closed, additional locations in Oakland and San Jose continue to operate, with a new opening planned at Oakland International Airport. Patrons fondly remembered their experiences at District on social media.
"It's with a heavy heart that we say farewell to our San Francisco location...where it all started for District in 2007. It was an amazing journey with so many great people along the way."
"We wanted to create a great, unpretentious neighborhood place, not a bar with a group of guys doing shots of Jagermeister."
"District helped to define the then up-and-coming South Beach neighborhood as a restaurant destination."
"A recent menu from the SF restaurant included oysters, deviled eggs, ahi tuna poke, buttermilk fried chicken sliders and pizza."
