"Those runs doomed Money to taking the loss, but outside of those two rough spots, he continued to show his plus strikeout stuff. The 6'7" right-hander fanned seven Flying Squirrels across five frames, including two punchouts in his fifth and final inning. The former 12th-round pick has 64 Ks in 46.2 innings since being promoted to Double-A in the middle of June."
"Offensively, the Baysox only managed to get eight singles and no extra-base hits. The Chesapeake lineup especially struggled with runners in scoring position, going 0-for-8. They also excelled at killing rallies before they started by hitting into three double plays. Infielder Aron Estrada was one of three players with two singles, and is now hitting .299 with a .923 OPS in 17 games with the Baysox."
Norfolk Tides' Tuesday game was rained out and will be made up as part of a Wednesday doubleheader. In Double-A, Richmond beat Chesapeake 4-0 as Blake Money allowed early runs but struck out seven over five innings; the Baysox offense managed only eight singles, no extra-base hits, went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position and hit into three double plays. Infielder Aron Estrada had two singles and is hitting .299 with a .923 OPS in 17 games. In High-A, Brooklyn edged Aberdeen 5-4; Wellington Aracena struggled with command, issuing two walks, a balk and surrendering runs via wild pitch and an RBI groundout.
