"If you do national deals and a certain number of games are included, the games that are left over, if there's a centralized approach there, it's a lot easier to get into a world where a fan has a reduced number of places to look for a particular game,"
"If I had to guess today, we would have availability of all 30 clubs when we go to the market in 2028."
""easier on the fan""
Major League Baseball controls national broadcast deals while individual teams control local television rights for most regular-season games. The San Francisco Giants currently air games on NBC Sports Bay Area. New national deals include Netflix broadcasting the Giants' season opener on March 25, 2026, and all national agreements expire in 2028. MLB intends to pool the 30 teams' local television rights and market them together as a centralized national package. The centralized approach aims to reduce the number of places fans must search to find a particular game. The expectation is availability of all 30 clubs in the 2028 market.
