Isaiah Barkett was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 10th round of the 2025 MLB Draft as the final Giants selection with a recommended slot value. He began his college career at NC State before transferring to Stetson, where he excelled as an infielder. Barkett had an outstanding spring season with a .389 batting average, notable contact skills, and elite speed. While he has limited power potential, he was recognized for his ability to put the ball in play effectively. Concerns exist regarding the pressure on his hit tool due to limited defensive upside.
Barkett primarily manned the hot corner at Stetson, but bounced around the infield during his career on the summer league circuit. The Giants selected him as a second baseman.
