The Giants' president of baseball operations rejected Bruce Bochy as the next manager despite recent conversations and Bochy's availability. Bochy managed the Giants from 2007 through 2019, winning World Series titles in 2010, 2012 and 2014 and reaching the playoffs four times. Bochy then managed the Texas Rangers for three seasons, guiding them to their first World Series title in 2023, followed by two seasons without playoff berths. The Giants fired Bob Melvin, which sparked reunion speculation, but the organization indicated it will pursue a different managerial direction.
