Cityside Park is a new 24-acre park on Treasure Island with the first six acres opening Saturday, September 13. The park offers panoramic views of San Francisco landmarks including Coit Tower, the Transamerica Pyramid, the Ferry Building, the Hyatt Regency, the Bay Bridge, and the Golden Gate Bridge. Amenities include bike and hiking paths, free barbecue grills, and jumbo 20-foot picnic tables. The grand opening will begin a series of weekly Off the Grid food truck events running Saturdays from September 13 through November 1, 11 am–4 pm. Treasure Island access is available via the Treasure Island Ferry and Muni's 25-Treasure Island bus.
A major new SF park called Cityside Park is opening on Treasure Island next weekend, with barbecue grills and jumbo picnic tables, recurring Off the Grid food truck events, and SF views that you just can't get in SF. San Francisco has been trying to make Treasure Island happen for a number of years, embellishing the man-made island and former World War II naval base with some new high-rise apartment buildings and a new ferry to Treasure Island.
And that September 13 grand opening will also kick off weekly Off the Grid food truck events at Treasure Island's new Cityside Park. These Off the Grid events are earlier in the day than most weekend food truck rallies (these are 11 am - 4 pm), and they'll happen at the new park every Saturday from September 13 - November 1.
